We have sourced five unique spices that are native to Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and can distribute these without any loss of quality or freshness. Our vast knowledge of Spice Quality Assurance, Quality Control and regulatory requirements for product handling, means we can consistently achieve an exceptional, high level of quality for our spice products.
Ceylon Black Pepper
Black Pepper is commonly known as the “King of Spices” and Ceylon (Sri Lankan) Black Pepper takes a unique rank in the world market due to its high ‘Piperline’ content and distinctive aroma. Black Pepper, botanically known as Piper Nigrum, is grown as an evergreen climbing vine. It prefers light, mild weather conditions to produce its complex, distinctive pungency. Our products are directly sourcing from a handful of selected growers, mainly from Kandy, Kegalle and Kurunegala districts. Our selected varieties are native to these areas and growers have generations of family knowledge. Sri Lankan Black Pepper history goes back many centuries and its extraordinary taste and qualities are still the same as ancient day Kings and Queen’s culinary preferences.
Ceylon Vanilla
Ceylon Vanilla is famous around the world for its rich, deep, smoky fragrance and unique gentle flavour. Ceylon Vanilla contains approximately 1.5% Vanillin and mainly cultivates Bourbon Vanilla / Bourbon-Madagascar spices in Sri Lanka. Vanilla is scientifically known as Vanilla Planifolia and is the second most expensive spice in the world. Vanilla grows well at 1000m above sea level and prefers cooler weather conditions to produce its complex, distinctive flavour. Our Vanilla products are directly sourced from a handful of selected growers, mainly from Kandy, Matale, Nuwara Eliya, Kegalle, Badulla and Rathnapura districts. Vanilla is famous as a weight loss supplement and acts as a natural appetite suppressant, helping improve metabolism. It is also used to relieve depression, anxiety and claustrophobia as an aromatherapy product.
Ceylon Cinnamon
Ceylon Cinnamon is commonly used as an aromatic infusion and unique flavouring agent for many dishes worldwide. Ceylon Cinnamon or True Cinnamon is native to Sri Lanka and has been cultivated for many centuries. Cinnamon provides an unforgettable warmth and refreshing experience in a wide variety of savory and sweet foods and dishes and is unique to many cultures across the globe. Recent medical studies show cinnamon may help with controlling blood sugar levels by 18-29% and reduce LDL cholesterol levels by 7-27%. Cinnamon extract also contains proteins that help to treat Alzheimer’s disease, fight cancer cells and slow down tumor growth. Ceylon Cinnamon is an evergreen plant found in the Sinharaja forest range, Matale, Kandy, Kegalle and Kurunegala districts. Our selected varieties are native to those areas and growers are from family inheritance. Their harvesting techniques enhance the quality of the product and go back many centuries.
Ceylon Cloves
Ceylon Cloves are world-famous for their exceptional aroma, rare, complex flavour and extraordinary medicinal properties. In addition, Ceylon Cloves contain an intricate, high oil concentration compared to any other varieties produced worldwide. Ceylon Clove, botanically known as Syzygium aromaticum, is an evergreen tree that grows up to 15-20m high and prefers humid, tropical weather conditions to produce its complex, distinctive spiciness. Clove oil is a natural antiseptic disinfectant that can be used against many pathogens and is commonly used in the dental industry to make toothpaste, mouthwash and combined with zinc oxide for tooth cavity filling. Clove oil is also used widely in the perfume industry and many different commercial products due to its unique fragrance. Our products are directly sourced from a handful of selected growers, cultivating cloves for many centuries.
Ceylon Cardamom
Ceylon Cardamom is commonly known as the “Queen of Spices” and Ceylon Elettaria Cardamom takes the highest ranking as the world’s most expensive spice by weight. Ceylon Cardamom is botanically known as Elettaria cardamomum and is native to the Indian sub-continent. Cardamom is an herbaceous perennial plant that grows 2-4m high. Cardamom fruit is a 1-2cm three-sided pod, containing 15-20 black, brown seeds and is generally traded as a complete pod. Ceylon Cardamom oil is well known for its sweet, woody aroma and energising fragrance. Cardamom is commonly used across many cultures and has now become an essential ingredient for many cooking recipes. Our products are directly sourced from our handful of selected growers. They are mainly from Matale, Kandy, Kegalle, Nuwara Eliya and Rathnapura districts and some high-level parts in Galle. Our selected varieties are native to those areas, with growers from family inheritance.
